Bradford City Fire Disaster Rememberance

Today, we pause to remember the tragic Bradford City Fire Disaster, which occurred on May 11, 1985. This devastating event claimed the lives of 56 people and left many others injured. As a church community, we offer our deepest prayers for the families and loved ones who lost so much on that day and for those whose lives were forever changed.

We honor the memory of the victims and the bravery of those who acted selflessly to save others. In the face of tragedy, we are reminded of the importance of coming together in love, compassion, and solidarity, lifting one another up in times of sorrow and hardship.

As we reflect on this difficult day in Bradford’s history, we also look to God for peace and healing. Let us continue to be a source of comfort to those still affected and a beacon of hope for our wider community.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).

Please join us in prayer for the victims, survivors, and their families, and may we never forget the lives lost on that fateful day. May God’s peace be with them all.
