Bradford City Fire Disaster Rememberance

Today, we join together in solemn remembrance of the 56 lives lost in the tragic Bradford City Fire on May 11, 1985. As a church family, our hearts are with those who still bear the pain of that fateful day—those who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the many who carry the memories of that unimaginable moment.

We offer prayers for the families and friends of the victims, for the survivors, and for the entire community of Bradford, which continues to find strength in the face of such deep loss. We also honor the courage of the emergency services, the fans, and the bystanders who acted heroically in the midst of chaos.

Let us be a people of hope, remembering that even in the darkest times, God’s love is our refuge. As we light candles and lift our prayers today, may we remember that God is near to the brokenhearted, and that His peace surpasses all understanding.
